Genius Hour

Another great session of independent responsible learning. It's great to see learners in charge. I especially like the way some learners are thinking about time management and the learning steps involved in planning out their tasks.

Cupcake fundraiser for SPCA.

Thanks to the cupcake crew who raised $220.50 for the SPCA. A successful day.
What a lovely display of the virtue of service. The animals will love you for it.

SPCA Visitors

Thanks to Geoff and Anna from Rotorua SPCA who explained the importance of showing caring and kindness towards animals. We loved meeting your pets and  listening to all your information. We hope you enjoyed the cupcakes too.

Genius Hour

It's wonderful to see our learners flourishing in a school culture that encourages creativity, collaboration , innovation and personal excellence. Genius hour is a time where learners can apply these skills to any area of work they are passionate about pursuing. At the end of the session we reflect on how we have shown we are independent and responsible learners using a rubric designed by the learners themselves.

Zig Zag Passing Challenge

How to get 5 balls passed in a moving zig zag line around the edge of the turf.
Sounds easy doesn't it??

Sevens Rugby Tournament

Good luck to our 10 rugby players who are off to Rotorua this morning.

Art Display

The practice panels looks amazing so we used them to decorate the school office as well as our class.
The theme was geographical and the learning was using different lines and shapes to depict these. Painting skills were also being honed before the major outdoor art project begins in a few weeks.

Session 1 of our ball skills started today. The Students will learn skills that will help them with netball, basketball and soccer.

Art with Whaea Jude

Stage one of today's art project. Keep an eye out for these stunning panels that will appear around the school in a few weeks. What do you think the theme is?
Do you know the artist that has inspired these  masterpieces?
