Mathematics in the 'Real World'

Mykayla in Room 2 said last week, "Your room is bigger than ours."
That got us thinking... and investigating...
After lots of measuring and calculating we can accurately state that Room 2 is bigger than Room by 3 square metres.
Here's  few studetns showing how big the difference is.
You'll need to check out some students blogs for more information about this maths investigation.

Morning Jump Jam

Whaea Aimee gets us going in the morning with Jump Jam. These are our new Jump Jam leaders for 2017.

Life Education

Andrea (and Harold) are sharing important information about how to be a good digital citizen.
She says we are all unique and a VIP - A Very Important Person with Very Important Personal information.
Whatever we do online should reflect that we are unique, one of a kind, special and proud.
The main message today was to stop and think before you post anything. Ask yourself," Is this going to spread kindness or sadness?" "Will  this show others that I am a unique, proud and amazing person?"

Assembly #1

Congraulations to Angus and Caleb for running a very successful assembly today.

Collaborative Learning

The senior students joined together to research which virtues would help them be a better monitor. They could present their work in any way they chose as long as the message was clear. We will use these as a resource to apply for  monitor jobs next week.
